Reid Sinnett Pt. 2

I wanted to put the Dolphins in a position to make a tough decision

This week, Moonlight Graham’s favorite NFL quarterback returns to the podcast to share stories about his year as a pro. Reid Sinnett joined us fresh off of his preseason week 3 breakout performance that took the NFL and social media by storm. He brought us up to speed on life as a Miami Dolphin and his foray into the world of movie reviewing.

When Sinnett last sat down with the podcast, he was an undrafted free agent who had signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was trying to learn everything he could from his teammate Tom Brady. Though he was playing well and learning, he was released from the Super Bowl Champs to be. The nature of the NFL being what it is though, Reid caught on right away with the Miami Dolphins as a practice squad player. The young QB finished the season on the active roster, suiting up for the final games of the season.

The Johnston, Iowa native had his first full offseason as a professional athlete this year and was able to focus on his training with the resources and support of the Dolphins. He entered this season with his mind fixed on earning a roster spot. He had a tremendous preseason competing with former Heisman trophy winner Tua Tagovailoa and former Colt and Patriot starter Jacoby Brissett. All eyes were on Sinnett though in the final preseason game in which he threw for 343 yards including arguably the most exciting play of the 2021 preseason. Down late with time running out, Sinnett scrambled out of the pocket, evading Cincinnati Bengal defenders and launching a 34 yard touchdown pass to tight end Chris Myarick to put the Dolphins up late. Sinnett is currently the Dolphins’ 3rd string QB and sitting in meetings with NFL legend Dan Marino.
